About

Welcome, we’re glad you’re here

Christianity, at its core, is about love of neighbor. But what does that mean in our increasingly divisive country?

Slick commercials tell us, “He gets us.” T-shirts and coffee mugs are ablaze with calls to “Be Blessed” and “Be Kind.”  But when Jesus’ empathy is replaced with fear and disdain, the real question is: Do we get him?

Seems it’s time for some Good Gospel Guidance. We think THE FAITHFUL VOTER PROJECT can help because most Christians do want to make informed choices that help and protect everyone’s families, faiths, and futures.

THE FAITHFUL VOTER PROJECT does its best to cut through the slogans and bluster, the confusion and distrust. Tapping into a wide range of sources and expertise,  THE FAITHFUL VOTER PROJECT harnesses thoughtful and accessible modern Christian theology grounded in scripture. It focuses on 12 issues that are pulling people apart. The goal: Move voters to the polls better armed with their values, not party politics.

We begin with some sage advice. Walter Brueggemann is one of the world’s most influential Bible scholars. He says the Bible contains many lessons and we are meant to take away the best of its wisdom. But it also contains all sorts of voices contrary to the Gospel message of love, mercy, and justice. A purely literal interpretation, warns Brueggemann, “is a dangerous threat to the faith of the church.”
